The SDXA supported a recent DX’pedition to Glorioso with Marek operating as FT4GL. Many of the club members were able to work Marek.
Marek was kind enough to send some pictures of him holding printouts of the SDXA logo and wanted to share them with you.
The Spokane DX Association had their annual picnic at the home of Del and Diane Morissette. Their son Peter cook incredible ribs and pulled pork. A great time of connecting was had by all.

I am sorry to report that apparently Art K6XT became a SK last weekend.
Just one month after being diagnosed with esophagus cancer Art passed away.
Art’s accomplishments included:
9 Band DXCC 160-10M >300 80 thru 10 except 281 on 12M and at 247 on 160.
DXCC 363/338 lacking only P5.
5BWAZ and 5BDXCC, CWDXCC 350, RTTYDXCC 312. Currently 247 on 160.
8 HF band WAZ 38 on 160.

11 Members of the Spokane DX Association (2 from Ephrata, 2 from Moses Lake, 1 from Davenport, 1 from Okanagon, and 5 from Spokane) made their way to Okanogon yesterday to take down a tower with antennas, plus three other masts with antennas for the widow of a SK (Chuck KI7DG). In spite of the rain we were able to get the job done. Appreciate the willingness of these SDXA hams to help a widow.

More than a year ago Mike/K7STO and Brian/W7BJN were talking about doing the 2023 
and decided to do 80 SSB….in different categories for the simple reason they don’t like butting heads with good friends in Contests. So they ended up winning 2 different categories on High Power Single Op SSB. The heavy lifting on Brian’s end was just a simple Double Bazooka Inverted Vee. Mike’s antenna was the DX Engineering VA-2 Vertical… As you can see in the attached picture…One year and 2 days later they both received their Division Winner plaques in respective categories.
Mike K7STO has received his 5BDXCC (Five Band DXCC) plaque.
Great achievement Mike. It will look good on the wall.

Congratulations to Mike K7STO for setting a new record for the 7th call area.
Mike was #1 in the 7th call area, #2 in North America and #8 in the world in the 2023 World Wide Digi DX Contest.
The SDXA 2023 EZNEC Antenna Workshop with Bob Zavrel W7SX was held at the Shadle Spokane City Library.
A great group participated.
Bob N7AU in the CQ 160 contest 2023 contest scored:
1st in Washington and
2nd in the 7th call area.

Work 5 DXCC entities in each of the 6 continents of North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania in any combination of contests or modes from the list below.

The eligible contests include the ten Pacific NW Trophy contests plus two Digi* (FT8) contests.
The participating clubs in the PNW Challenge are ORCA DXCC Club, Western Washington DX Club, Willamette Valley DX Club, and Spokane DX Association.
